#AOTW – GARETH WHEELER

Artist Of The Week – Monday, Oct. 19, 2015

© by Gareth Wheeler

Instrument: Vocals, guitar, singer-songwriter
Genre: Folk-rock
Hometown: Brisbane, Australia.

I tend to have inspiration for songs at times of heightened emotion or transition in my life – both good and bad.

Our Artist Of The Week was a surprise — talented GARETH WHEELER from Brisbane, Australia! He wins an AKG D5 microphone in our weekly Featured Artist Contest.

It is incredible to read all the enthusiastic comments on Global Rockstar Magazine… they are in three languages! We think we can sum them up pretty well with this one: “I’d blindly follow his music”.

Gareth seems the picture of the singer-songwriter of your dreams… He started writing poetry as a child, learned how to play the guitar around 12 then moved on to writing his own songs about philosophical and romantic issues at age 18. Seems like he really had no choice but to make music!

Gareth Wheeler already has two albums, The Human Race, which contains the song of the same name participating in Global Rockstar 2015, and Survivors of Nature. His next one will be called Canary in the Mind.

Gareth Wheeler plays powerful folk-rock, in his own words, with vocal harmonies and plans for orchestral support. He likes to think that his music has the flavor of some bands from the 60s and 70s like Neil Young, Elton John, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues… and we agree. But with a distinctive Gareth Wheeler character. :-)

The Austrian radio station Innsbruck Cool Britania is already playing his music and will interview Gareth Wheeler extensively in the coming months. We predict a bright future for Gareth!

AKGD5The Artist Of The Week wins an AKG D5 Microphone!

The D5 professional dynamic vocal microphone for lead and backing vocals delivers a powerful sound even on the noisiest stage. Its frequency-independent supercardioid polar pattern ensures maximum gain before feedback.
The D5 stands for a crisp sound that cuts through every mix. The dual shock mount eliminates any kind of mechanical noise for trouble-free live use. The audience will hear the pristine sound of your voice!
