Genre: Pop, country
Hometown: Dorset, United Kingdom.

This week’s Artist of the Week feels like a friend to us at the Global Rockstar office… SHANE BOARD!

Shane Board won Artist of the Week with the second highest comment count since the Featured Artist Contest moved to the online Magazine.

Find a Cure is my way of speaking my thoughts through my music. A cure for Diabetes is my greatest wish.

“Iwas diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age ten and it changed my life. And that of my family, so much. I hated it but accepted there was nothing I could do about it. But I could help make a difference to the future by raising funds for medical research. So that’s what I did. Along with my Mum we started putting on different events and started a children’s support group at our local hospital. I enjoyed seeing the money coming in and knew every penny we raised was just that bit closer to my dream of finding a cure for Diabetes.

After a few years I felt I wanted to do things on a much bigger scale so we started a project called Pop 4 Diabetes. Nine years down the line and many thousands of Pounds later we have just sold out our tenth anniversary Ball, which is in October 2016. It is the fastest selling one yet – every one has sold out but this one was sold out two days after this years Ball! 😀

Pop 4 Diabetes raises funds for Diabetes research through music and events.

We have so many celebrity guest supporters who come to our Ball each year and it’s just fantastic to see the support we have gained from doing this.”

This year Shane participated in Global Rockstar 2015 with Find a Cure. He first rolled over the Pre-selections in the United Kingdom, then proceeded to gain a well deserved #5 in the Global Finals!

We’re honored that he’s already confirmed his participation in Global Rockstar 2016 <3

AKGD5The Artist Of The Week wins an AKG D5 Microphone!
